Here are outfits to pack for Europe based on the two trips I took. When packing outfits to wear in Europe, I consider rain, cobblestone roads, walking all day and maybe some dressy occasions. But mostly I have a casual vacation wardrobe.

Tip: plan and pack a versatile travel wardrobe so you can mix and match.

I used 2 different travel outfit color schemes of blue and gray in April for a river cruise through parts of Europe.

In September, I used black and sand colors for my vacation outfits.

3 reasons why these shades are a solution for women:

  1. We can add pops of color with easy to pack accessories.
  2. We pack fewer shoes because one can be worn with many.
  3. We can then pack in only carryon luggage.

I will give you ideas that all start with a base item, and then you will see other tops that could also be worn with those bottom pieces throughout your vacation.

Outfit Number 1 for Europe:

  • Gray bottom pieces
  • Oatmeal colored top (Or black or white)
  • Shoes: black sneaker or skin toned sandal (Both shoes are water-resistant.)

Outfit Number 2:

  • Linen pants
  • Black tee
  • Blue button up shirt
  • Or a brown cotton / cashmere blend top
  • Sandals or sneaker

Outfit Number 3:

  • Slick golf pants or hiking pants if pouring rain
  • Tennis shoe that is waterproof but also has the support if you feel like you need a good solid foot.

Which ones could I wear for cocktails or dinner in a nice restaurant?

  • Gray pants
  • Basic tee in red, black, or the cotton cashmere top
  • Linen pants
  • Short sleeve blouse with a striped sweater tied around my neck

Do not forget to pack a scarf to elevate or change up an outfit.

Outfit Number 4:

  • Dress – black is easy for a trip to Europe
    • J. Jill has dresses that are long enough for me. That is what I packed for last September on Lake Como with 85 degrees but dry.
  • Sandals and sneakers
  • Scarf draped around shoulders

Travel outfit hack: Wear a 2 piece set; its top can be worn with any pants or with the skirt.

What colors are versatile for black tops and blue shirts?
Pink, green and khaki.

If you do want to add color, that is a way to wear solid shirts while packing one more fun color.

Outfit Number 5:

  • Striped top set. I do not love the wide leg long pants on me since the top is wide. But a striped top in light blue or red could be worn with khaki or with black or with blue pants.

Outfit Number 6:

  • Golf pants can get you into a restaurant with a collared blouse or a ruffled blouse.
  • Wear with tees and a lightweight cashmere sweater tied around your neck.

One way that I saved space in September was I packed my rain jacket that went viral and my base layers were solid! I packed a cashmere sweater, and I had thermal pants to wear under my hiking pants.

Your core is warm! It was 48 degrees and pouring rain for one day and for 4 other days it was around 52 and raining.

For my vacation outfits in Europe I am 5’8ā€ size 10 and now some size 12. Shoes all run true to size.

Hope these ideas spur your creativity. Have a lovely trip!
