When I plan travel outfits for hot summer weather, I need:
- Clothing for women that does not cling, especially if humid and hot weather.
- Vacation outfits that are lightweight.
- Breathable fabrics.
- Shorts that do not ride up when I walk and sweat.
These dresses are a cotton fabric that is lightweight without clinging.
Some Quick Tips
- I am size 10 and 5’8”.
- My travel hack for dresses during summer vacation is slip shorts.
- In my video, , I show how these outfits look on me, and while I talk you can tap the shopping sticker to look at other colors and sizing and shop.
Option 1: Dresses
I bought a second one of the dresses I mentioned because I can wear sneakers for walking all day on a European tour, but I can also wear them to a beach restaurant with sparkly sandals or heels.
Because we pack in only carry-on luggage, these outfits need to go from day to night, and not be see-through.

Option 2: Cotton Cashmere Top
Wear them with white pants to really pop.
Another tip is that this temperature-regulating fabric can be worn from day to night activities.

Option 3: Breathable Linen Fabric
This outfit has a luxurious thin lining, making this a-frame style dress easy to travel with.

Option 4: Shorts
These 5” long shorts do not ride up when you walk. The wide waistband is stretchy. You do not even feel them between your legs.
They are versatile for vacation outfits.
I can also change up the look with a different top, such as by adding a crisp white tee with pops of chunky jewelry.
Add sandals or sneakers if you are walking on cobbled stone streets.
Option 5: Short Linen Dress
I wore this short linen dress out with my girlfriends. I love the detailing on the bodice. It makes the dress more feminine yet playful. I even wore my slip shorts underneath. It’s not stiff linen, nor is it see-through! I was worried I would look pregnant, but I will wear this in Greece!
Travel Tip: It does not go up and out when the wind blows either.
A travel hack for sleeveless dresses for summer vacation is to bring a shoulder shrug sweater. I am debating one for Greece because we need clothing that is modest for some churches or museums.
For travel it could tie around my waist when not in use.

Option 6: Shirt Option
For really humid vacations that are also hot, you will want this shirt for 3 reasons:
- Merino wool is paper-thin but not see-through
- It costs less than the Amazon one I also have!
- These wick away moisture, so if you drip sweat, it absorbs it without making your shirt look wet like a cotton tee would.
Because it is crisp, I can wear this with a nice pair of pants and gold jewelry, and it will look appropriate for a restaurant.
Option 7: Trousers
These pants drape in a flattering style, so they do not look bulky or wide-legged!
It can look nautical, these pants are so breathable for hot weather. Red can be versatile for travel outfits. They are long enough for me to wear compression socks on the airplane if I want.

Option 8: Maxi Dress
My dress drapes and feels like a t-shirt dress. For vacation, I can wear it with sneakers during the day and sandals in the evening if I want to.

Option 9: Skirt
I left this skirt in the dressing room, and the next day I called Nordstrom back and said, “Please grab this for me!” I went back the next day because with a blue shirt, it is such a great outfit for vacation!
The waistband seems like a smocked style from the 1970s that is soft. It is cotton but is not see-through.
It reminds me of an easy style women wear when they are window shopping while on vacation or eating at a cafe.
